"I came across Bull City Woodshop and one of its instructors/board members/volunteers through Reddit after making a post - I asked if anyone would be willing to point me in the direction of some guidance on how to get a woodworking project started when I had no woodworking experience. Scott invited me for a tour of the woodshop and to hear about their programming, which was honestly more than I expected from my post. I am so impressed by their efforts to engage children (and adults) in a hands-on, welcoming, and supportive place that is truly a gift for the Durham community. It was really wonderful to see the instructors and kids/adults working together and having a place to just be themselves, learn, and have fun. After receiving a brief introduction from the tour and also several hours with Scott’s help designing and executing the initial parts of my project, I’m excited to continue and take one of their adult classes next! Definitely check it out :)"
