The student is given the instruction, support and freedom to create woodworking projects using a variety of hand and powertools.
Students will get to take home one completed project. All other projects will be sold to the community with the student earning the profit!
They will choose from pre-selected projects that are designed to teach the safety and use of the tools.
As the student progresses in their woodworking skills, they will be given more freedom to create projects of their own choosing.
As the student completes projects, they will be assessed by volunteers on their proficiency of the different tools.
Our goal is for students to remain in our program until they graduate high school at which point they can be employed in the woodworking industry or even start their own woodworking business!
